How much iron do I need?

 

It depends. How much iron you need depends on your current iron levels, the form of iron you take and your diet when taking iron.

At the shelf, finding an iron supplement can be confusing because there are several forms of iron that come in different dosages. Each one is absorbed differently by your body. Ferrous sulfate, the most common form of iron, is commonly recommended by doctors at a dose of 325mg, which is equal to 65mg of elemental iron, but for some people its absorption is accompanied by upset stomach.

 

The two forms of iron that make up Bifera iron tablets, heme and non-heme iron, work together to enhance iron absorption while minimizing the usual side effects associated with iron, such as heartburn, queasiness and constipation.
